The House of Annetta Press: a bit more info...

Inspired by Annetta’s practice in fostering exchange through conversation, printed books and performance, we have established a printing press in collaboration with collective Slow + Dirty. The Risograph printer is available at low-cost for community groups and campaigns; and publishes projects by user-groups of House of Annetta.

This press supports projects that engage with social and spatial justice, by and for community groups. The project is unfunded and run by volunteers, made possible by solidarity fee donations & skill-sharing/ reciprocity.

We’re not a print shop…we’re an aspiring community press. We're about conversations and longer-term collaborations, so printing something isn’t always a quick process- but it can be ;) Come talk to us, and we’ll take it from there.

We have a two drum risograph, with the colours: Black, Green, Red and Fluoro Orange

★ Our Hours:

We’re open on Tuesday nights from 6:30 PM to 9 PM, these are our Press Nights <3, our weekly meetings at House of Annetta. We run monthly inductions for anyone wanting to learn how to use the printer (we recommend attending one of these before making a print request).

★ Inductions:

This is a 2-hour workshop for up to 10 people to learn about the risograph machine and how to use it independently. Usually we make a print together to learn collectively. Inductions are free but donations are welcome! Once you’ve done the induction, you can come to book to use the machine during press nights on Tuesdays.

Upcoming Inductions: 27th May 2025 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM.

To book your spot, email us at: hoa.press@proton.me

On other Tuesdays, we’re usually around, hanging out and working on other bits! If you'd like to visit or pop by for a chat, just send us an email beforehand.

★ Other ways to use the printer…

If you need print support for a project see below for different options:

If you’re skilled in risograph and would like to use the printer, send us an email and we can talk more.

★ Pricing:

£5 per use of printer (Solidarity fee)
£2 per master
£1.50 per 50 copies, per colour
We print on Evercopy plus A3 80gsm @ 5p/sheet, you can bring your own paper (uncoated)

Solidarity fee - everyone who uses the printer is asked to make a minimum solidarity donation of £5 to go towards its maintenance, on top of material costs and other fees (technician etc if relevant). For funded projects this goes up to £10, and for well funded institutions it will be £10 - £50+ (tbc).

★ Press fund:

We have a small amount of money available to support grassroots campaigns and activism that needs printing. We support movements whenever we can. If you have a flyer for a demo, occupation, or action, we’ll do our best to help.

If you need something with a quick turn around, let us know by putting “QUICK” in the subject line and include as much detail as possible—number of copies, a file if you have one, and preferred colours.
